Reception
2x cams / 24 fps / Record external audio.
Keep your B CAM wide.
Use a light for speeches & dances if necessary.
Don’t stop recording during the speeches, dances (including hora), entrances,
cake cutting, unless batteries need to be changed.
Cocktail hour:
Wides, over the shoulders, & close ups of guests laughing, cheersing, hugging, celebrating...etc
Entrances:
After the BCAM is in place and sound is running, get a closer angle with the ACAM.
Cake:
Get a shot before it’s cut. Get a closeup shot of them cutting it then pan up to get the cake eating/kiss.
Special Dances:
Straight on wide angle with the BCAM. Off to the side close-up angle with ACAM.
Wedding Toasts:
Straight on wide angle with the BCAM. Off to the side close-up angle with ACAM.
Open dance floor:
In addition to getting candid mediums, if you see a funny dance move, go gesture to the dancer to do it again.
Bands:
Brides ALWAYS ask for more band footage. Be sure to grab close-ups as well as at least one full song with the Bcam.
