When Melissa reached out to us about her Northwest Chicago Wedding at Concorde Banquet, she pretty much told us to be ready for a party! Not her exact words but we knew that she and the crew were a lively bunch. The type of group that loves to have a good laugh, and even more so, get down on the dance floor. Needless to say, she was right on so many levels! In particular, Melissa danced pretty much the entire day. She even broke out into a little jig, all on her own, during formal wedding portraits! She is our kind of bride and we were beyond excited to watch her and Tom say I do.

Aside from all the mini-dance celebrations throughout the day, fun elements were a big touch point of Melissa and Tom’s Northwest Chicago wedding at Concorde Banquets. In the getting-ready suite, the bride and her wedding party were in possession of all the props. Things to take the moment and the mood from Yay it’s my wedding day, to let’s party! But first, let us just say that everyone looked absolutely stunning. Melissa’s bridesmaids all wore these sleek forest green floor-length gowns with impeccably done hair and makeup. But, they topped it off with heart-shaped sunglasses and gorgeous hand fans embellished with a floral design. On Tom’s side, the groomsmen were handsome and dapper in classic black tuxedos and bowties.

Melissa and her crew go way back, they are such good friends that you might hear them say things like “back in the day”. To have people at your side on your wedding day who have known you for the better part of your life is something so special. It was amazing for us to witness not only the bond that Melissa and Tom share, but also the one they share with their friends. Being Melissa and Tom’s Chicago Wedding Videographers, we knew how important it would be to capture those special moments between all those they love so that Melissa and Tom could watch them on repeat for a lifetime.

Once it was time for Melissa and Tom to say I do, we moved things from the getting-ready suites to the church. Melissa and Tom decided to forgo having a first look and to do things the more traditional way, by meeting at the altar. When the doors of the church opened, Melissa came down the aisle arm in arm with her mom. It’s moments like these, as wedding pros, that it’s hard not to choke up with joy for our couples. But their guests took the lead and brought all the excitement for the bride and groom. When Melissa and Tom were pronounced husband and wife, both sides of the church pews thundered like their own personal cheering section.

To kick things off before the wedding reception at Concorde Banquets, Melissa and Tom’s guests waited outside the doors of the church with ribbon wands, loud cheers, and bubbles filling the air. Their wedding reception at Concorde Banquets was serious fun. Melissa and Tom spent the first half of the night side by side, at their sweetheart table. By the way, the sweetheart table was positively bursting with flowers. For real, you have to see this table! Flowers in the front, back, and down the sides. Oh! And a fantastic glowing neon sign hanging behind them. As they soaked up their first few moments as newlyweds, their friends took to the mic to give the most heartfelt speeches about how Melissa and Tom met and ultimately fell in love.
