Youtube.com has a wide selection of videos that can help. Setting the best man or maid of honor‘s expectations before hand allows them time to hone their new skills before the wedding.
Questions
Unfortunately, there isn’t a youtube video on the web that will tell your bridesmaids how much you still owe the hair and makeup team. Small questions during prep can snowball and bring out anxiety in even the chillest of brides.
Consider sending an itinerary for the day to the bridal party. Give names and phone numbers, room numbers as well as the location of the rings, letters, dress, veil, shoes…etc. Working with the maid of honor and best man before the wedding day will give you confidence to shift the authority your trusted friends. They can be your shield and answer when the sandwiches are supposed to arrive so you can enjoy your day.
Herd cats
After the wedding ceremony, it’s customary for family members to take photos with the bride and groom. Unfortunately, family members drift and the photographer can’t usually connect names with faces.
Here’s where your friends shine. Text the list of relative photos to the bridal party and inform them that you need help herding them after the ceremony. Let them know they can save the day and keep the festivities moving by transforming into family member escorts. After all, what uncle, aunt or grandparent could turn down such a good looking young person?
Waiter
There will be a time during the portraits when the wedding videographer and photographer will tell the bridal party to take 5. They will keep you and your fiance to take more intimate couple photos.
Ask your maid of honor or best man to carry coats, umbrellas or water. They can even go grab you and your wedding videographer some appetizers.
