Second shooters

If your wedding involves getting ready at two different locations, bouncing around the city for photos, an altar first look, a religious ceremony, a larger bridal party, or a ton of guests, having that second wedding videographer is definitely worth having. 9 times out of 10 a wedding photographer will have a second shooter(or third) to assist so why not have a second videographer?

I shot a wedding last year where I was flying my drone in order to capture the couple with the beautiful landscape behind them. While my eyes were on air, the couple started giggling uncontrollably and the wind blew the veil up in a really fantastic way. I am happy to say that my second shooter nabbed the shot!

Drone Footage

Whether you are planning a regal Chicago Athletic Association wedding, a classic University club wedding, a contemporary Morgan Manufacturing wedding or even a rustic barn wedding aerial footage will make a truly stunning addition. People used to have to fly in helicopters to get the same shots that we can now capture with tiny robots! Make sure your pilot is FAA certified and insured. Great moments for a drone include, beautiful landscapes, any body of water, city skylines, bubble send-offs, outdoor parties, and smoke bomb portrait sessions.

I shot a wedding recently, where the couple participated in a tradition that the groom had to “purchase” the bride from his future father-in-law (While this tradition was taken seriously back in the day, today it is done with a lighter comedic tone). The father-in-law happened to be a hilarious man and refused all of the groom’s money and gifts for 45 minutes. That couple purchased raw footage and will have one of the funniest moments I’ve seen caught on camera.

Raw Footage

When you purchase raw footage, you are purchasing everything that I shoot, unedited, straight from the camera to your computer. If your wedding involves a live band, family traditions, a special event during the bridal prep, or wedding videography for over 10 hours then having all of the footage may be worth it.

Extra Hours

I generally go by the 30/30 rule: The videographer should arrive 30 minutes before you put on the dress and stay until 30 minutes after the dance floor opens. That said, there are some exceptions to this rule. Just like purchasing a second shooter, you may want extra hours if your wedding includes multiple locations, city traffic, a religious ceremony, a larger bridal party, a ton of guests, or anything else that could slow the day. In addition, if you are doing a sparkler send off, glow stick rave or any fun after-hours tradition, purchasing extra hours may be for you!
