You would never guess that the views of the Chicago skyline at Lacuna Lofts are all courtesy of a former macaroni factory, turned wedding venue. But, it’s 1,000% true! Lacuna Lofts is a Chicago wedding venue that has the most amazing views of the city. And they come courtesy of an open space that is charming & intimate. In addition to the views and the cozy ceremony and reception spaces, Lacuna Lofts weddings also provide access to the venue's rooftop. Ana & Sasha’s wedding was held at the very tail end of winter, so their events took place indoors. But, before the night was through, we snuck them up to the rooftop for a twirl and a newlywed kiss, complete with a dip.

Ana and Sasha’s love story is a throwback to their college days. Throwing it all the way back to 2012! In the ripe old year of 2012, they were both celebrating the start of spring break. As luck would have it, they just so happened to be at the same party with mutual friends. A conversation was struck up and before the night was over they exchanged telephone numbers. A few weeks went by and they planned their very first date at Floriole in Lincoln Park. Ana arrived at Floriole on time and ready to meet Sasha, but he wasn’t there. He eventually arrived, very late (which apparently is par for the course with Sasha). But, Ana was ultimately glad she decided to wait it out on that first date. They hit it off almost immediately and began a relationship with a deep connection, that continued on through the next decade!!

It wasn’t until 2022 that a proposal began to loom. Ana and Sasha took a trip together to the West Coast. On the very last day of their vacation, Sasha stopped by a jewelry store to pick up an engagement ring. Yes, it was that last minute! Wondering where Ana was while Sasha went out ring shopping? She was waiting in the rental car, which also happened to be parked in a tow-away zone! Ana was in the dark the entire time, and Sasha eventually returned to the car. With no explanation as to where he was.

They spent the remainder of their final vacation day together exploring the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. Completely surrounded by tourists, and in a sea of strangers, Sasha finally popped the question. Of course, Ana 100% said yes! Their engagement story is still something they laugh about today. It’s a truly unforgettable proposal and once they returned home they shared the story with their family and friends.

Once the couple was officially engaged, they began planning their Lacuna Lofts Chicago Wedding. Attire for the evening was formal and guests were asked to donn their best cocktail gowns or suit. But the details? The details were utterly romantic. Lavish white florals, all over the place! Not just abundant heaps of florals either, nope. Ana and Sasha must have worked with their floral designer to create decor that was soft and romantic because their wedding day flowers were anything but run-of-the-mill.

The romance didn’t stop with the decor either. Ana and Sasha exchanged letters and gifts on the morning of their wedding. They also planned a first look at the epic grand stairway of their getting-ready hotel. All of their joy and happiness bubbled over in that moment. When Sasha turned around to see his bride for the very first time on their wedding day, we knew the rest of the day was going to be one for the books!
